We live in a magnificent world…
filled with the wonder of changing light and the multitudes of color ever on parade that constantly inspires my poetic and spiritual vision. Using 35 mm traditional format or my digital equipment, I travel along the Eastern Seaboard for my ongoing Light-house Series and romantic works of “Gabriel’s Garden”.
My artistic goal is to combine art history, fantasy and surrealism/humor into evocative messages that are accessable and stimulating to the viewer. In my work I have always utilized art historic reverences in art. I enjoy combining contemporary themes with visual “clues” that are essentially personal stories and narratives. I extensively employ drawing techniciques combined with acrylics and other media to bring my compositions to fruition. My long-term experiences as an arts educator has further impressed upon me the great importance of the viewer’s innate perception and essential role in the artistic process.

An award winning artist, Janice is an eclectic and visionary, impressionistic painter. Her work reflecting a life long love affair with nature and the esoteric. Seldom painting from a scene directly, rather she allows the images to coalesce, creating kaleidoscopic forms within the mind. Only then, perhaps days later will she being to paint. The results often times, even to the artist herself, are to say the least, surprising. At times mind expanding. The canvas apparently birthing from within, creating barely evident phantasms of face and form; providing both the artist and the viewer with unexpected levels of perception and mystery.

The Cappuccino, Gallery and Gardens is open for browsing and we’re offering complimentary coffee and baked treats. Our Cappuccino Bar and Lunch Offerings will start toward the end of the month when the plumbing is complete and the health inspection is done.
Vicki Hamblin’s acrylic on wood series compliments the restful atmosphere in our Garden Room.
Gallery patrons can sit in share the afternoon with friends, enjoy a cup of coffee, latte or cappuccino and savor the afternoon breeze. The back garden work will begin next year, but the grass and trees are pleasant enough as it is.
The Gallery is filling in nicely. Oil Paintings by Gerald Cloud and Jacqueline Guthrie take center stage this week (shown on left). Their award wining works range from scenic to surreal and with vivid use of color and imagination.
Ellie Carbone’s Original Watercolor Images are top sellers in the Gallery. In addition, Ellie will be teaching two watercolor workshops in the 2008 summer season.
